Tragedy as man, 33, found dead on Greater Manchester street after 'concern for welfare' call

A man was tragically found dead after a 'concern for welfare' report in Stockport on Sunday afternoon (February 16).

Police and paramedics were called to the incident on Branfield Avenue, in the Heald Green area at around 1.20pm.

A man, aged 33, was pronounced dead at the scene despite the best efforts of paramedics. His family are currently being supported, GMP said.

A scene was put in place on the residential street amid police enquiries throughout Sunday. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death are ongoing.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "We were called at around 1.20pm today (16 February 2025) to reports of the concern for the welfare of a man on Branfield Avenue in Cheadle.

"Officers attended and despite the best efforts of emergency services, a 33-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead. His family are currently being supported by officers.

"A scene is in place on Branfield Avenue whilst enquiries into the circumstances around his death remain on-going."
