Stuart Everett murder trial LIVE: Body was 'sawn into 27 pieces' before parts found across Greater Manchester, jury hears
The trial of a man accused of murdering Stuart Everett after body parts were found at six locations across Greater Manchester is underway. Marcin Majerkiewicz, 42, from Eccles, is accused of murdering the 67-year-old. He denies the charge.
Mr Everett, also known as also known as Roman Ziemacki, was murdered before being 'dismembered', prosecutors allege.
Parts of Mr Everett's body were found in six locations across Salford and north Manchester, jurors at Manchester Crown Court have been told.
Mr Everett and Mr Majerkiewicz lived at the same property on Worsley Road in Winton, Eccles, jurors have heard.
During jury selection on Monday, junior prosecution counsel Ben Campbell said: "The trial in question is concerned with the murder of a male called Stuart Everett, also known as Roman Ziemacki.
"It is the prosecution case that he was murdered on March 27/28 last year, and that his body was subsequently dismembered before being deposited across a number of different locations in the Manchester area.
"Different parts of Stuart Everett's body have since been recovered at the following locations: Kersal Dale, Blackleach Reservoir, Linnyshaw Colliery Woods, Boggart Hole Clough, Chesterfield Close and Worsley Woods."
Jurors were told a third man, Michael Polchowski, also lived at the property on Worsley Road. Trial judge Mr Justice Cavanagh told the jury of six men and six woman the case 'may excite strong emotions'.
He said: "Some of the evidence will be distressing. However you must keep a cool head. Your decision should be a decision in which bias, emotion, sympathy, prejudice, matters of that sort, play no part."
Jason Pitter KC is set to open the case for the prosecution on Tuesday (February 4) from 10am.
