Traffic STOPPED on major road in police incident
All traffic was stopped on a Greater Manchester motorway amid a police incident.
Emergency services were in attendance on the A627M in Oldham this afternoon (June 9).
Traffic has been stopped in both directions near to the Elk Mill roundabout.
In a post on X, a spokesperson for National Highways north west wrote: "NEW INCIDENT #A627M both directions between J3 (#M62 #Rochdale) and J1 (#A663 #A627 #Oldham) #Greatermanchester
"ROAD CLOSED Due to an ongoing incident being led by @gmpolice
"Further info to follow regarding diversion and releasing traffic in the closure."
A post on Inrix added: "All traffic being temporarily held due to police incident on A627(M) in both directions from J1 A663 Broadway (Elk Mill Roundabout) to J2.
"Northbound Entry Slip at J1 and Southbound Entry Slip at J2 Now Closed."
Greater Manchester Police said it received reports of a pedestrian on the road.
The road has since fully reopened.
