LIVE: Trams STOPPED on line and delays across Metrolink amid 'faults' - latest updates

Two incidents on the Metrolink network are causing disruption this morning - with four tram stops currently out of service.

A 'faulty tram' has led to services being stopped between Manchester Airport and Wythenshawe Town Centre this morning (June 18), according to the Inrix traffic monitoring service.

It means no trams are currently calling at Manchester Airport, Shadowmoss, Peel Hall or Robinswood Road.

Wythenshawe Town Centre services are currently only running to and from Manchester city centre.

Meanwhile, a points failure at Victoria is also causing 'minor delays' on other services across the network.

An update from Inrix said: "No service on Manchester Metrolink between Wythenshawe Town Centre and Manchester Airport due to faulty tram."

It added: "Minor delays on Manchester Metrolink at Victoria due to points failure. Affecting services across the network.."

The disruption comes as engineering work is already taking place at Piccadilly Gardens, with no services currently running between Piccadilly and St Peter's Square.

Transport for Greater Manchester has been approached for further information.
