Toulouse Olympique game has the potential to make or break Hull KR's 2022 campaign

After one win in seven and travelling over to France with a weakened squad, you could say Hull KR are fighting a battle in itself even before a ball is kicked on Saturday night. Still, Rovers desperately need a win and must ensure the match against Toulouse doesn't turn into one of those fixtures fans will look back on and say that's where the season unravelled.

George King and Ryan Hall will be big misses for the Robins, but it's time for other players in those positions to be accounted for and take one for the team this weekend. The business end of the season is well upon us, and Rovers cannot afford to pick up another defeat which would most probably see their season peter out.

Although head coach Tony Smith played it down in his usual mellow way, Toulouse, Hull FC and Wakefield Trinity all await Rovers in the next few weeks, and the club's supporters are in unison that those games will make or break KR's 2022 campaign.

If you look back at Olympique's season so far, they do have a tendency to run teams close, but what's noticeable is when a side takes an early lead against Sylvain Houles' men, they tend to crumble and concede plenty of points in the process.

That's what Rovers have to aim to do at the weekend, silence the hostile crown, use the travelling supporters to their advantage and not repeat what they did in the reverse fixture and have to chase the game for 80 minutes.

The kicking game of Mikey Lewis and Rowan Milnes must be better this weekend, as Toulouse outside-backs go through plenty of legwork during their outings, and it's up to the Rovers playmakers to keep turning the opposition over and force errors in defence.
