Tottenham would 'love' to bring £60m star to Hotspur Way

Tottenham “love” Southampton and England midfielder James Ward-Prowse, claims transfer insider Dean Jones.

The 27-year-old is currently being linked with a move to the north London club, and Jones says he is a player who they have liked for a long time.

According to the Daily Star, Tottenham are just one Premier League side who are currently tracking Ward-Prowse.

The same outlet states that, as well as Spurs, north London rivals Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Newcastle United are also keeping tabs on him.

If the Southampton star is to leave St Mary’s this summer, it is thought that he could cost up to £60m.

The above comes as no surprise given his long-term contract and his current form. Ward-Prowse has been a real threat this season, scoring nine goals in the Premier League, with four of those coming from free-kicks.

Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that Ward-Prowse is a player Tottenham adore but has doubts over whether they can actually get him out of St Mary’s.

“He probably would be better than [Pierre-Emile] Hojbjerg, but people in that Spurs team would probably tell you Hojbjerg does a job in that team, that he’s underappreciated, so slightly different players obviously.”

This is not the first time Spurs have been linked with Ward-Prowse, with The Telegraph reporting last August that they were preparing to make a move for him during the 2021 summer transfer window.

Considering that and all of the above, it would not be a surprise
