Tottenham transfer rumours: Spurs monitoring Martinez

Wrapping up the Tottenham transfer news, rumours and gossip in the 2022 summer window. Could Lautaro be heading for Tottenham?

Guardian football writer and Italian football expert Nicky Bandini told Sky Sports:

"One of the other elements of Romelu Lukaku returning would be that Inter Milan may have to make the difficult decision of selling Lautaro Martinez, who is probably the most valuable asset in their entire squad now.

"He has been valued around the €90m mark and they've also been laying the groundwork this summer to sign Paulo Dybala with the Juventus forward out of contract, so selling your top goalscorer Lautaro means there needs to be a counter proposal to fans.

"Building a different attack with Lukaku and Dybala is enough of a counterweight for directors to turn around and agree to selling Lautaro Martinez without it causing uproar. Tottenham have an interest in him after Antonio Conte worked with him at Inter. These pieces all fit together, but whether or not it happens we await to see.

"Lukaku arriving does pave the way for it becoming more likely."

Yves Bissouma has completed a medical at Tottenham ahead of his transfer from Brighton.

Spurs will pay an initial £25m for the Mali midfielder, which will potentially rise to £35m with performance-related add-ons.

Bissouma is understood to have flown into the UK on Wednesday and stayed at the on-site hotel at Hotspur Way, named 'the Lodge'.

He is set to sign a long-term deal with the club to become their third signing of the summer window already, following the arrivals of Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster.

Tottenham are not done yet by any means - they still want to add as many as three more players, possibly more.

The priorities now are to land a new right wing
