"Come to a resolution" – Sky Sports reporter drops promising Tottenham transfer update
Tottenham have “come to a resolution” with Middlesbrough over the services of Djed Spence, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.
Spurs have already splashed the cash by spending upwards of £75m on their four summer signings and Antonio Conte is hoping to complete more business before September’s deadline.
Conte might have added Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison to his squad, but the Italian is yet to land a right-back.
Spence has been identified as Tottenham’s primary target in that position, but despite two rounds of talks between Spurs and Middlesbrough, they were unable to reach an agreement for the 21-year-old.
However, Sky Sports believe the two clubs have finally settled, with Spence in advanced talks over a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The report states that Spurs are expected to pay £15m plus add ons for the right wing-back, who will take their summer spending spree close to the £100m-mark.
Despite the delay since talks first got underway, Bridge has always been confident that north London was Spence’s preferred destination, amid interest from Nottingham Forest, Borussia Dortmund and Roma.
He told GIVEMESPORT: “Spence has wanted to join Spurs for a while now, it was just down to Daniel Levy and Steve Gibson negotiating.
“Steve Gibson wanted a lot more than what Tottenham were offering, but they’ve come to a resolution now.”
