Tottenham should go after Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni this summer to form a fearsome Premier League defence, one pundit has claimed.
Spurs are reportedly after six new signings in this summer’s transfer market as they look to go to the next level under manager Antonio Conte. The Italian has done well and it was mission accomplished on Sunday as they booked their place in next season’s Champions League.
Sunday’s 5-0 win over relegated Norwich ensured Tottenham will have premier European football for the first time since the 2019/20 season.
As for new signings to bolster their squad, Tottenham are reportedly looking at adding to their defence.
Conte worked with Italy centre-back Bastoni as the pair won Serie A with Inter last season. Reports have subsequently claimed that Spurs are in pole position to sign the 23-year-old.
Conte is already happy with Cristian Romero and Eric Dier as two of his senior defenders, with Ben Davies also enjoying a resurgence in the manager’s back-three system.
