Tottenham send ‘proposal’ to Martin Terrier after becoming ‘seduced’ by 21-goal Ligue 1 forward

Tottenham Hotspur have been “seduced” by in-form French forward Martin Terrier, according to a report.

Terrier is in the midst of his most prolific season as a professional. For the first time in his career, he has broken the 10-goal barrier in Ligue 1. In fact, he has smashed it – currently standing on 21 goals from 36 league games in 2021-22.

Only Kylian Mbappe and Wissam Ben Yedder have outscored Terrier in France’s top flight this term. As a result, other clubs have been taking note.

According to Foot Mercato, one of the interested parties is Tottenham Hotspur. There is a feeling the Premier League side are on the lookout for another attacker ahead of next season.

Harry Kane now looks more committed, while Son Heung-min has enjoyed an outstanding season. But they arguably need more support, which is where Terrier could come in.

It is claimed that Tottenham are “very fond” of the 25-year-old. In fact, they have sent him a “proposal” to consider.

The response remains to be seen. Terrier is still under contract until 2025 with Rennes, who have an outside chance of qualifying for the Champions League ahead of the last match of their season.

They are currently fourth in Ligue 1, three points behind the occupants of the last Champions League spot for France, Marseille – but with a much better goal difference.

Indeed, only PSG have scored more than Rennes’ 80 league goals this season, and Terrier has contributed to more than a quarter of them.

He has admitted he is happy at Rennes, but a bigger platform could await him. Napoli have been linked from Serie A, while Tottenham are now in contention to give him a first taste of Premier League football.
