Tottenham's Harry Kane was emotional in interview after 1-0 Brighton win
Harry Kane‘s first half goal saw Tottenham Hotspur pick up a much-needed 1-0 win away at Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
Antonio Conte’s side were in desperate need of a victory after losing the north London derby to Arsenal last weekend and then being held to a 0-0 draw by Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League.
But while the win on the south coast for Spurs was of vital importance to their season, it still pales in significance to the tragic news that came out of the club earlier on in the week.
The club’s fitness coach Gian Piero Ventrone sadly passed away at age 61 from fulminant leukaemia.
Prior to kick-off at The Amex, the player wore t-shirts with the message ‘Always in our hearts, Gian Piero’ on them and there was also a minute’s applause held to pay tribute to his life.
Conte was noticeably fighting to hold back the tears while sat in the dugout just before the match got under the way.
