Tottenham: Paratici now 'looking for two more signings' at Hotspur Way

Tottenham Hotspur could still make two signings before the summer transfer window slams shut, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Tottenham have certainly benefited from getting most of their business done early this summer.

The Lilywhites had sealed six signings before the end of July and they’ve started the season with a flurry of impressive results.

Three wins and one draw currently has them at third place in the Premier League table, only bettered on points by north London rivals Arsenal.

But there may yet be more additions before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

Spurs have been tipped to revive their interest in January target Adama Traore, currently of Wolves, and have reportedly drawn up a shortlist of defensive additions should Japhet Tanganga leave the club this week.

It could therefore be a busy end to the window for director Fabio Paratici and chairman Daniel Levy.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones has suggested that Tottenham could make two late signings before the close of business on Thursday.

He told GMS: “A few options that Tottenham are starting to look at, at the moment. But we always knew that this would happen. Tottenham got their business done early and I was always told ‘look out for the last week, they’ll look to do two deals, Tottenham always do’. So let’s see who those guys end up being.”

They certainly do – Levy is notorious for pursuing late deals, seemingly believing they can offer maximum value.

Last summer, Tottenham signed Emerson Royal from Barcelona on the 31st of August.

And back in October 2020, Spurs signed Joe Rodon from Swansea City on the day the domestic transfer window closed, with the foreign market slamming shut over a week prior.
