Tottenham: Paratici must now 'address key issue' at Hotspur Way

Tottenham should look to improve their right wing-back department either in January or next summer, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.

Antonio Conte currently has three right wing-backs in his squad, although none of the trio are yet to prove the answer to the Italian’s conundrum.

Last season, Emerson Royal was Conte's preferred choice, with the Brazil international starting 26 of the 38 Premier League games.

Royal briefly lost his place in the team to Matt Doherty, who enjoyed a purple patch of goals and assists across a spell of seven consecutive league starts.

But Doherty got injured against Aston Villa in mid-April, which allowed Royal to win his place back and he would start every top-flight game up until the victory over Leicester last month.

Despite those two battling it out for a regular starting role, Tottenham still opted to bring in promising star Djed Spence from Middlesbrough in the summer window.

But Conte has already stated that the youngster was a club signing, which probably explains why he has played just once in all competitions.

As a result of Spurs' troubles at right wing-back, Bridge reckons that supporters will want the club to bring in reinforcements in the near-future.

He told GIVEMESPORT: "As a Tottenham fan, you'd hope that they're going to address the right hand side in the next window, or the summer at the latest."

Each of Spurs' options excel in different areas, although Doherty would probably bring the most to the team.

Spence is the fastest and arguably the best going forward, but his lack of Premier League experience and tactical nous is probably holding him back right now.

Meanwhile, Royal has proven himself as a disciplined defender, only to let himself down in the final
