Tottenham: Paratici and Conte sent 'clear message' to Levy at Hotspur Way

Tottenham Hotspur have employed a change of tactic in the transfer window this summer as they build towards the 2022-23 campaign, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth. 

Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici have got the bulk of their business done early with six new signings already putting pen to paper at Hotspur Way.

It has been a summer of brutal efficiency for Spurs so far with Conte’s squad well bolstered ahead of what is set to be an exciting season. 

Shrewd free transfers have been made with Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster arriving after leaving Inter Milan and Southampton respectively, while Clement Lenglet will add depth to the back line in his year on loan from Barcelona. 

Cash has also been splashed. Yves Bissouma and Djed Spence have joined for a combined £39 million while just over £50 million was spent on Everton talisman Richarlison. 

While the names have impressed, it is the speed with which Tottenham have got the bulk of their business done that has particularly caught the eye.

Sheth told GIVEMESPORT: “I think there was a change of tact in this transfer window with Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici at the helm telling Daniel Levy, ‘none of this last minute stuff that you usually do’, because we usually expect Spurs to go until deadline day.

“On Sky Sports News, there’s always a reporter outside Tottenham’s training ground on deadline day, because more often than not, there’s going to be some business happening. But with regard to Paratici and Conte, I think the message was clear. Let’s get the business done early, let’s get it done quickly.”

Following the signing of Djed Spence there is little in the rumour mill to suggest that Spurs are close to making any new additions.
