Tottenham news: Antonio Conte plots double Barcelona transfer raid as Spurs dealt £17m decision

Your Tottenham morning digest on Friday, July 8.

Tottenham are closing in on the signing of Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet on a season-long loan deal. Antonio Conte's side, who have been in discussions with the Spanish giants over the French international, hope the defender will complete a medical in the next 24 hours and sign ahead of the pre-season tour of South Korea on Saturday.

Fabio Paratici did try and lure the French international to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on loan 12 months ago but unfortunately, a deal never came to fruition. Lenglet, who has made 15 appearances for his country since making his international debut in June 2019, will give Conte options across the backline.

So if the price is right and the deal is right, I think that deal will have legs and could have legs moving forward for sure."
