Tottenham injury news: Fresh Harry Kane claim ahead of Brighton clash

Harry Kane will be fit for Tottenham‘s game with Brighton this evening despite concerns over a potential knock, according to former captain Graham Roberts.

The striker played 90 minutes in Saturday’s defeat at Manchester United but was seen hobbling when he left the Old Trafford turf.

In terms of Champions League qualification, it was a six-pointer, with both teams in desperate need of a victory to keep in touch with fourth place Arsenal.

But for Spurs, it only ended up extending their recent run of following up a victory with a defeat, with the run currently at seven matches.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s early wonder strike put the Red Devils ahead, although Antonio Conte’s side responded when Dejan Kulusevski won a penalty that Kane thumped into the corner.

Spurs’ joy was short-lived, though, as Ronaldo tapped home Jadon Sancho’s cross moments later to put United back ahead.

Tottenham did equalise for a second time when Harry Maguire turned Sergio Reguilon’s cross into his own net, but the game belonged to Ronaldo after he headed home the winner to complete his hat-trick late on.

The evening could have gone from bad to worse had Kane got badly injured, although Roberts wasn’t too concerned about the England captain’s condition.

When asked whether Kane might be an injury doubt ahead of tonight’s clash on the South Coast, Roberts told GIVEMESPORT: “I think Harry is a bit sore, maybe. He’s had a few knocks, but I’m sure he’ll be ok for Brighton.”
