Tottenham: 'Incredible' 20 y/o faces 'huge pre-season' at Hotspur Way

Tottenham striker Troy Parrott is facing a “huge season” in 2022-2023, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.

The 20-year-old is on the back of a productive loan spell in League One with MK Dons and Bridge reckons Parrott will now be hoping to catch Antonio Conte’s eye at the beginning of pre-season at Hotspur Way.

It feels like Parrott is approaching the stage in his career where every campaign feels big.

None more so than last term when the Republic of Ireland international was off the back of two failed loan spells with Millwall and Ipswich and in desperate need of some goals and regular time on the pitch.

That’s exactly what Parrott enjoyed, with 10 goals and seven assists in 3496 minutes, as the Dons narrowly missed out on promotion after losing to Wycombe in the semi-finals.

But Parrott, described as ‘incredible‘ by ex-Dons teammate Conor Coventry, is also now playing for his future at Tottenham and once he returns back to Hotspur Way for the start of pre-season, he’ll have just 12 months remaining on his contract.

The Athletic believe Spurs are expected to take up an option to extend his deal, although he’s also set to be loaned out to the Championship, but not before Conte gets his first look at him in the flesh.

Conte still only has one senior striker at his disposal, so could a good pre-season see Parrott land a place in the Italian’s squad next season?

Bridge told GIVEMESPORT: “I think for him a Championship loan would be best, but he could come into pre-season and tear it up.

“It’s a huge pre-season for him, it’s a huge season for him. I grabbed a word with him at the end of the season in the car park after a Conte presser, and he said, ‘I don’t want the season to end, it’s just my luck.'”
