Tottenham Hotspur 'interested in' Harry Maguire and more Manchester United transfer rumours

Tottenham Hotspur could offer Harry Maguire an escape route out of Manchester United this summer, according to reports.

A piece from Football Transfers claims Spurs are interested in the defender, who remains unfancied by Erik ten Hag. The United captain has endured an underwhelming campaign, starting just seven Premier League games.

Signing reported target Kim Min-jae would plunge Maguire further down the pecking order - putting his England place in jeopardy. A move appears inevitable but the report also lists United’s asking price as £40million.

That figure appears hefty for an out-of-sorts, 30-year-old defender but the Reds will want to recoup as much of the £80million paid to Leicester as possible. West Ham United are also named as a potential destination.

Elsewhere, Football Insider are reporting (via Sports Mole) that Inter Milan will demand £70million for star striker Lautaro Martinez. It is no secret that Ten Hag will be in the market for a forward, with Wout Weghorst currently plugging the gap up front.

Martinez has scored 25 goals across all competitions to help Inter reach their first Champions League final since 2010. Manchester City await but it is their rivals who are rumoured to be expressing interest in their star man.

The piece names Chelsea as another Premier League club keeping tabs on the Argentine to help fix their alarming goal return this season. Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta and club legend Javier Zanetti previously refuted suggestions the 25-year-old could leave at the end of the campaign.
