Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte plans for transfer of Middlesbrough man
Djed Spence has been heavily in demand this season, with the player lighting up the Championship on-loan for Nottingham Forest and catching the eye of some of the biggest and best teams in England.
Both Tottenham and Arsenal have been interested in the youngster since January and it seems as though that interest will not waver from Spurs at least, with Antonio Conte planning to stay at Spurs and snatch up the current Middlesbrough man as reported by ESPN.
The club have managed to secure a spot in the Champions League ahead of next season but it has been unclear as to whether or not the current manager would end up staying on in London or not. This report suggests that he will and that he will work to strengthen the side even more during the summer – and that one name continuing to crop up is Spence at Boro.
The player is still only 21-years-old but has already set the league alight in the Championship this year, with 39 league outings leading to six goal contributions and plenty of eye catching performances.
He’s been one of the key reasons why Forest have soared towards the top of the second tier table and are one match away from a Premier League promotion. If he can help his current side to achieve it, then he will go down in their history books already – and would likely do his stock plenty of favours heading into the offseason.
It looks increasingly likely that he will be on the way out of Middlesbrough during the transfer window – and it looks like if the side want any chance of keeping hold of the player, then they will have to ward off plenty of interest from Antonio Conte and Tottenham.
The Verdict
Djed Spence has been one of the players to watch in the Championship this season and you wouldn’t be surprised to
