Man Utd: Romano reveals 'contract talks' with 'world-class' star at Old Trafford

Manchester United met with Christian Eriksen‘s agent recently to discuss a move to Old Trafford this summer, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Eriksen’s contract at Brentford expires later this month, although the Denmark international is yet to decide where he’ll be playing his football next season.

Having impressed by scoring once and adding four assists in 11 appearances following his January move, the Bees have offered the 30-year-old a long-term contract and are waiting for his response.

The report adds that Eriksen, described as ‘world-class‘ by Thomas Frank, is settled in London, having spent six-and-a-half seasons at Tottenham from 2013-2019.

Therefore, Tottenham have also presented Eriksen, who’s scored 115 club goals across his career, an offer as Antonio Conte hopes to reunite with the midfielder after winning Serie A together at Inter Milan.

But United are the latest Premier League club to join the race for his signature, with The Athletic reporting that the Red Devils have made the ex-Ajax star an offer over a switch to Old Trafford.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “With Christian Eriksen, they had a conversation, a direct discussion with his agent Martin Schoots a few days ago, they discussed about potential contract, so it’s a possibility, but also Tottenham and Brentford are pushing for him to go next season.”

Only Bruno Fernandes (6) and Paul Pogba (9) claimed more than four assists and four of the latter’s came on the opening day against Leeds.

According to WhoScored, Fernandes did top the key passes
