Tottenham 'handed Jadon Sancho boost' and other Manchester United transfer rumours

Tottenham have been handed a huge boost in their proposed attempts to sign ousted Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho - according to reports.

Speculation over Sancho, 23, and his future at Old Trafford remains at fever pitch right now following a public spat with manager Erik ten Hag which resulted in the England forward being dropped from the first-team squad. Sancho continues to train away from the main group at their Carrington base.

The former Borussia Dortmund man has not played for United in two months and there is every chance the player could be moved on when the market reopens. Dortmund, Barcelona and Juventus are among top European suitors being tipped to launch a mid-season pursuit for him.

However, reports from Italian publication Calciomercato say Tottenham could have the upper hand. Sancho, who cost £72.9million when United signed him two years ago, is claimed to want to stay in the Premier League and that could have a significant impact on where the player eventually ends up.

Tottenham have caught the eye this season with their attacking play under Ange Postecoglou and they are sitting top unbeaten after 10 matches played. No fee has been mentioned in the Calciomercato article, but United will aim to recoup a sizable chunk of their outlay on the ex-Dortmund starlet.

Elsewhere, reports from The Mirror suggest Arsenal are keen to sign former United target Benjamin Sesko when the market reopens. United weighed up a swoop for the highly rated Slovenia frontman last summer.
