Tottenham fans sent Antonio Conte warning as Chelsea and West Ham comparisons made

Tottenham fans have been told to be patient with Antonio Conte as they need time to bridge the gap between themselves and the top three teams in the league.

Since his arrival, the Italian has already begun making some improvements and Spurs now sit seventh in the table, just four points behind fourth place West Ham and with three games in hand.

The performance in the FA Cup against Brighton seemed to show a big step-up from a number of Tottenham players but consistency in performances is still missing, which was made clear in the 3-2 defeat to Southampton.

In the January transfer window, Conte saw four first team departures and just two arrivals, with Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski both signing on deadline day.

With the two new arrivals and spots opening up, it would seem that the "painful rebuild" which was spoken about under Mauricio Pochettino has begun and bringing in a successful manager such as Conte can only bring hope for Spurs fans.

However, there is a long way to go and it is something the Italian again mentioned in his pre match press conference on Friday.

"As you know very well, to work and build a team, you need time," he admitted. "You need time because it's not easy, especially when you arrive during the season. You try to work, to work a lot, but it's important for us to go in specific situations.

"We’ve just started, we've just started. This process will be long, but at the same time, in every moment you have to find the time to improve, to analyse the situation that penalised us in the past."

Simon Jordan has now given his verdict on what Conte has done at Tottenham so far and made comparisons to Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea, but warned that Spurs fans should not hope for too much too soon.
