Tottenham: Conte 'considering' position change for £180k-a-week star vs Man Utd

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is considering starting Ivan Perisic in attack against Manchester United, believes journalist Dean Jones.

The north London club head into their game at Old Trafford with a couple of injury problems, and Jones thinks that could see wing-back Perisic deployed further forward.

Richarlison is definitely out of the clash versus United after damaging his calf in the recent triumph over Everton. However, it is not thought to be too serious.

“Richy has his injury. It’s not a serious injury, but he needs a bit of time to recover,” Conte told SPURSPLAY.

Dejan Kulusevski also looks set to miss the game, with Conte not sounding too optimistic about his chances of returning on time.

"Deki is another player who needs a bit of time to recover. The medical department are working in a strong way to give me the possibility to have an important player in my choice, but we have to wait."

With Richarlison and Kulusevski both expected to be absent for the trip to Old Trafford, Jones thinks Conte could start Perisic in Tottenham's attack.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT about the possibility of the Italian doing that, the journalist said: "I think it'd be a great idea, and I think he is considering doing that. It makes a lot of sense. The only drawback is what you're taking away from the position he's currently playing in that team."

Perisic is obviously more than capable of starting there. He has spent most of his career playing as a winger, so it really should not be a problem.

His attacking output is really good, with the £180,000-a-week Croatian scoring over 50 goals for his former club Inter Milan.
