Tottenham and Igor Tudor part ways with club deep in relegation mire - ESPN

Relegation-threatened Tottenham Hotspur have parted ways with Igor Tudor after the 47-year-old failed to win any of his first five Premier League matches.

Tudor leaves Spurs with the club in 17th place in the Premier League, one point above the relegation zone. Last week's disastrous 3-0 defeat to relegation rivals Nottingham Forest in north London proved to be Tudor's last match in the dugout.

Spurs' awful form predates Tudor's arrival. Their 16-game winless streak is their worst since 1934-35. They finished 17th last season under Ange Postecoglou but were never truly at risk of going down due to the comparatively poorer showing from the bottom three teams.

The team has been decimated by injuries to key players for two seasons in a row.

Tudor had only been appointed to the role on Feb. 14 after the club parted ways with Thomas Frank. The Croatian signed a contract that was due to run until the end of the season and was given the brief of ensuring Spurs' Premier League revival by providing an instant impact on the team in the way he had done in previous spells at Juventus and Marseille.

While his tenure got off to the worst possible start with a 4-1 north London derby defeat to Arsenal, Spurs were not fancied to get anything out of the clash with their bitter rivals. Instead, lasting damage was done in the losses to Fulham and Crystal Palace that followed.
