Tottenham: £53.8m star's days at Hotspur Way are 'numbered'

Tanguy Ndombele‘s days at Tottenham are “numbered”, claims transfer insider Pete O’Rourke.

The 25-year-old is currently on loan at Lyon, who he initially joined Spurs from for £53.8m back in 2019, and O’Rourke cannot see any way back for him under Antonio Conte.

According to the Evening Standard, Ndombele expects to return to Tottenham in the summer when his loan at the Groupama Stadium ends.

The same outlet states that Lyon have no plans to sign the midfielder permanently despite having the option to.

Ndombele is still likely to leave north London in the next transfer window, however, with the Evening Standard also claiming that Conte sees no future for the Frenchman at the club.

Under Conte, Ndombele made just one league start before returning to Lyon, so it would be a surprise if the Spurs boss had plans for him going into the 2022/23 season.

O’Rourke also believes that Ndombele’s Tottenham career is over and is not expecting him to be training at Hotspur Way next term.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the football journalist said: “I can’t see any way back for him at Tottenham, even though he’s still the club’s record signing. It just didn’t work out for him. I think his days at Tottenham are numbered.”

As O’Rourke has said, it just has not worked out for Ndombele at Tottenham. Therefore, the France international moving on for good this summer is probably in everyone’s best interest.

He is not going to play under Conte, who demanded more from him before his loan move to Peter Bosz’s side.
