The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the 15-man India squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 on Tuesday. Rohit Sharma, who was already announced as the captain, will be having all-rounder Hardik Pandya as his deputy. With Yashasvi Jaiswal taking the opener's spot, batter Shubman Gill has been named in the reserves. The likes of Sanju Samson, Rishabh Pant, and Yuzvendra Chahal have also earned their call-ups in the teams. However, a few players, who are being paid a hefty amount by their respective IPL franchises, have failed to find a spot in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup.

Here's a list of such players:

3. Harshal Patel

Punjab Kings bought pacer Harshal Patel at a whopping price of Rs 11.75 crore. However, he was overlooked by the selection committee.

4. Deepak Chahar

Chennai Super Kings pacer Deepak Chahar, who gets paid a price of Rs 14 crore, is regularly down with injuries. This is one of the main reasons behind his exclusion from the squad.

5. Ishan Kishan

Mumbai Indians star Ishan Kishan gets paid a total of Rs 15.25 crore. However, the selectors went ahead with Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson as the wicketkeepers in the team.
