Tonbridge Angels loanee Brody Peart speaks of his time at Brighton & Hove Albion and life at Wycombe Wanderers

Brody Peart arrives at Tonbridge with an impressive footballing background.

He came through the academy at Brighton after being spotted in non-league playing for Basingstoke.

It was a wonderful opportunity to learn the game for the teenager before moving to League 1 Wycombe last summer.

Peart has joined the Angels on loan for a month, along with Chairboys team-mate Christie Ward.

He was lucky enough to join in first-team training at Brighton under ex-Seagulls boss Robert De Zerbi, gaining invaluable experience.

It’s a period of his career that will stay with him.

“I never look back in regret,” said Peart.

“It was one of the best times at Brighton, especially to develop me technically.

“Coming from non-league, I was a bit rash and a bit loose on the ball but I think being at Brighton, under De Zerbi and the under-21s coaches, just developed me so much.

“I went over a couple of times to help out with shape and stuff and even to be around the first team was a great experience.

“They have a strict way of playing, so you learn patterns, in and out of possession. It was getting to know that side of the game.”

Peart, 19, has continued his development at high-flying Wycombe, who are fighting for automatic promotion.

They operate with one squad so, again, he’s in a great position to learn.

“They’re having a fantastic season,” said Peart.

“There’s a lot of experienced lads in that Wycombe side who have always got their arm around all us youngsters.

“It’s good to be around them - it’s very beneficial.

“The likes of Garath McCleary and Sam Vokes, they’re there to support you in every way possible.

“We’ve only got one squad, so everyone’s training together. The squad’s very large.”
