Tonbridge Angels clinch loan deals for ex-Millwall and Maidstone striker Alfie Pavey and young Gillingham defender Logan Dobbs
Tonbridge Angels have completed loan deals for striker Alfie Pavey and Gillingham youngster Logan Dobbs.
The pair could make their debuts in Angels’ Kent derby at Maidstone this afternoon.
Pavey, 30, won a National League South title medal with the Stones in 2022, having previously scored 300 goals for their academy, to earn a move to Millwall.
Tonbridge manager Alan Dunne has been working hard to strengthen his forward line since taking over last month.
He was hopeful of completing a deal this week and Pavey has joined on loan for the rest of the season from Bracknell Town.
“Alfie is good in both boxes, which is important,” Dunne told the Angels website.
“He is a proven goalscorer at this level, he will give us something different and I’m delighted to have him on board.”
Pavey made several first-team appearances for Millwall, at Championship and League 1 level, and has also played for the likes of Welling, Dartford - where a prolific spell saw him named National League South player-of-the-year - and Dover.
He was with Farnborough and Woking last season before joining Eastbourne, scoring against Maidstone in the play-off semi-finals on his final appearance, a game United won 2-1.
Talented defender Dobbs has joined on loan from Gillingham until January.
The former Ipswich youngster, 19, has made two appearances for the Gills this season, scoring in a 4-1 win against Fulham under-21s in the Football League Trophy.
He helped Burgess Hill win the Isthmian South East play-offs on loan last season and impressed at Welling this season, scoring three times in 12 appearances.
