Tommy Fury makes Jake Paul fight statement after previous withdrawals

Tommy Fury has guaranteed that he will show up for his fight against Jake Paul, with 'TNT' defiantly making it clear that he would not withdraw after failing to appear at last week's press conference.

Fury was absent from last week's promotional event in Saudi Arabia, prompting fears that history was set to repeat itself and the Love Island star would withdraw. However, having made two previous withdrawals he has made it clear that he intents to fulfil his obligation to fight against the American on February 26.

Fury withdrew for a first time in December 2021, citing a combination of injury and illness for not being able to take on Paul for their first arranged fight. The bout was then rearranged for last summer, with Fury then withdrawing due to problems being allowed into the United States amid Visa problems.

Fury's partner Molly-Mae Hague has recently given birth to a baby girl and despite the understandable professional complications this causes, Fury has reiterated his focus on beating Paul in an exclusive interview with Mirror Fighting.

"At the end of the day, if I cared about what people thought about me I probably wouldn't be in this position in the first place," Fury explained. "I don't care what anybody thinks about me as long as God knows I'm doing good, my family; my missus and my baby.

"They're the opinions that I care about. At the end of the day, everyone's going to have an opinion, let them think what they're going to think. I will be there bright and early in Saudi Arabia, ready for this. There's no worries of me not showing up to this fight.
