Tom Lawrence insists Rangers stars have Michael Beale's back amid derby fallout and he's indebted to beleaguered boss

Tom Lawrence insists the Rangers squad remain fully behind under-pressure boss Michael Beale.

The fans’ faith in the manager’s methods is hanging by a thread but Welshman Lawrence is adamant the dressing room still trusts the gaffer to bring success to Ibrox. He said: “He’s our manager and we want to do the best for him, the club and ourselves.

“We go out on that training pitch everyday and work 100 percent, that’s all we can do. We’ve lost a big game and we know there will be headlines. But we have to deal with that. As a collective we have to move forward. The players are 100 percent behind him. Everyone in that changing room is behind the manager. The manager has his way of working and we’re all behind that. We know he’s got great tactical and man-management skills. He’s good with all of that and we’re all behind him.”

It’s all gone wrong for Beale with recent losses to PSV and Celtic but there’s good news with former Derby skipper Lawrence ready to kick-on after a year of injury hell. He said: “It was a long time to be out and a very frustrating time for me but now I am back on the pitch and doing what I love doing. It’s great.

“I’m not far off full fitness. Obviously match fitness is completely different to training every day. I have had a few behind closed doors games that have helped me.

“Hopefully if I get a chance I can show that I am back. The manager has been great with me. He has always kept me in his plans and told me what he thinks.

“He saw me as a young kid playing for Man Utd growing up so he knows my game really well. It is always good to have that. When you are injured you are at the side a little bit but to have the manager’s backing is great.”
