Tom Brady: Throwback to the insane hit he took from Nate Clements in 2001

Tom Brady has had some big hits delivered against him in his career, but he might not have has any that were as big as the one Nate Clements delivered in 2001.

Tom Brady is without a doubt the greatest quarterback that the game has ever seen. There isn’t a lot that you can say about Brady that hasn’t been said already, whether it be the countless records that he has, the record-breaking 7 Super Bowl rings, or the fact that he is still going despite his ever-increasing age.

But throughout his career, he has had plenty of ups and downs. He’s had to deal with the controversy surrounding both SpyGate and DeflateGate, both with different levels of severity and differing levels of blame attached to him, or if it was the ACL injury that cost him all of the 2008 season as the New England Patriots tried to avenge their imperfect 18-1 season the year before.

And no matter how old he gets, there will always be something controversial following him, as this past week of NFL action has shown.

Late in the 4th quarter of their game against the Atlanta Falcons, the Buccaneers were looking to put together a drive to kill the clock, and force the Falcons to use their remaining timeouts in order to seal the game.

But on a 3rd down play, Brady was sacked by the Falcons’ Grady Jarrett, which looked as if it would force the Buccaneers to punt, and give the Falcons one last chance to drive down the field and possibly win the game. However, the play was called back for ‘roughing the passer’, even though looking at it, it seemed as if it was a pretty clean and fair tackle, giving them a first down that more or less sealed the game.
