Tom Brady: Buccaneers QB slammed by ESPN analyst for lack of leadership this weekend

Tom Brady has come in for some fierce criticism from a number of ESPN analysts following the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday. 

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have had something of a rocky start to the 2022 NFL season. They got off to a reasonable start, going 2-0 with wins over the Dallas Cowboys and the New Orleans Saints, only to have back-to-back losses against the Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers to drop back to .500 at 2-2 and then bounced back with a win over the Atlanta Falcons last week.

All this has been going on whilst they are dealing with a major problem when it comes to keeping players healthy, meaning that Brady has had to use all of his experience to keep this team going as well as it has been, perhaps adding even more to his G.O.A.T status by how he’s managed to drag the players through.

Yesterday though against the Pittsburgh Steelers, a team who went into it missing a lot of players including the vast majority of their starting secondary, and who have had arguably one of the worst offenses in the league so far this season, the Buccaneers had their worst result of the season as they fell to a 20-18 loss in a game that Brady was far from perfect in.

He completed 63% of his passes (which ranks 5th in terms of his game performances so far this season), threw for 243 yards (4th worst) and had a quarterback rating of 87.8 (also 4th worst). 

Now his preparations for the game might have been hampered by what was happening off the field, as he attended the wedding of New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft which meant that he missed the final few practices for the team and joined them on the Saturday in Pittsburgh.
