Timescale for Preston North End’s transfer business outlined ahead of summer window

Preston North End will be aiming to complete most of their transfer business before their pre-season tour of Spain, according to a report from the Lancashire Post.

The Lilywhites are set to head to Spain on July 8th where they will step up their preparations for the 2022/23 campaign.

It is understood that Preston will be aiming to complete a couple of deals this week with the transfer window set to officially open on Friday.

Preston will return to pre-season training on June 27th and are set to play their first friendly of the summer on July 2nd against Bamber Bridge.

By drafting in some fresh faces in the coming weeks, Lilywhites boss Ryan Lowe will have more time to work with his players ahead of the start of the upcoming season.

Having secured a 13th place finish in the Championship standings last month, Preston will be keen to push on under the guidance of Lowe later this year.

The scale of the club’s success in the upcoming term could depend upon whether they are able to convince their targets to make the move to Deepdale.

The Verdict

When you consider that Preston released 13 players following the conclusion of the 2021/22 season, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if they end up signing a host of individuals in the upcoming window.

One of the players who has recently emerged on the club’s radar is Marlon Fossey who spent the second half of the previous term on loan at Bolton Wanderers.

Given that the Trotters are also interested in signing Fossey from Fulham, Preston will need to act quickly in this particular pursuit.
