Tiger Woods cards worst Masters round of his career on back of setting consecutive cut record

Tiger Woods has carded his worst EVER Masters round.

The golfing legend returned to Augusta National this week and has had big crowd following him around the iconic course, desperate to see him recapture the form that has resulted in five triumphs at this major over a glittering career. But persistent back problems have seen the American struggle in recent years, with his last victory in Georgia coming in 2019. He made the cut for a 24th consecutive time at the Masters, setting a new record to beat the one previously held by Gary Player and Fred Couples.

But that was as good as it got for Woods. He endured a Saturday slog in the Georgia sun, going round in 82 strokes - the highest score he's ever turned in at this tournament. That sees him sittin gon 11 over par ahead of the final round on Sunday. Dane Nicolai Hojgaard led the way late on Saturday night on seven under, with LIV star Bryson DeChambeau, Max Homa and Collin Morikawa one shot back.

Rory McIlroy's hopes of finally claiming golf's grand Slam are remote at best. The Northern Irish was T23 overnight.
