Tickets flying out for Greater Manchester's most popular Christmas light trail after new announcement

It's one of the most popular events in Manchester's Christmas calendar and this year it promises to be bigger and brighter than ever.

'A series of dazzling new illuminated artworks' has been announced for the Christmas at Dunham Massey event, which promises to 'enchant visitors' once again this festive season.

Tickets are already flying out for the after dark event, which runs from November 15 to January 1 and transforms the park, in Altrincham, Trafford, into a winter wonderland, with little ones catching a glimpse of Father Christmas along the way.

Created by Culture Creative and produced in partnership with Sony Music and the National Trust, the trail features thousands of twinkling lights, sparkling baubles, tunnels of light and vibrant woodland and lakeside displays, and is loved by visitors of all ages.

These 'stunning' new installations, inspired by the natural world and festive themes, have been created by internationally renowned artists and promise to 'add extra magic to the Christmas season'.

Among the new highlights for 2024 is Luminosi Trees by Sound Intervention. Three six-metre high light trees change colour in time to a music composition using gamelan gongs and based on the Fibonacci sequence of numbers.

Dan Fox, the director of Sound Intervention is an artist, musician, filmmaker and installation creator based in Cumbria. Also debuting is On The Tide by Squidsoup which is a water-based floating floral lightwork. Created from points of light floating in strands, they are positioned by the natural movement of the water.
