Thug told ex he was 'Satan' then throttled and kicked her until his pizza delivery arrived

A thug told his ex-girlfriend he was 'satan' before savagely beating her - stopping only when a pizza delivery he ordered arrived, a court heard.

Scott Connolly sneaked into his former partner's home while she put their kids to bed before viciously throttling her and repeatedly kicking her as she lay curled up in a ball on her kitchen floor. He also threatened to 'snap the spine' of her new boyfriend and leave him 'in a wheelchair' during a barrage of menacing texts.

A court heard on Tuesday the 38-year-old had been in a relationship with the woman for around eight years and went on to have two children with her. But Michael O'Brien, prosecuting, described how she began a new relationship in June this year, which 'seemed to anger' Connolly.

He went on to send her a string of abusive messages between July 2 and 4, saying: "I'm f***ing satan. That c*** on his Facebook, in a relationship. Is he, yeah? The nonce, when I get hold of him he'll be in a wheelchair."

Connolly has now been jailed, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Liverpool Crown Court heard the dad, of Mardale Road in Huyton, also called his love rival a 'cancer patient' and a 'cancer nonce', adding: "How desperate are you? Because I'm going to kill him.

"I won't stop until I hurt him. I'm going to snap your skinny c***'s spine."

Then, on July 26, the victim had been for a day out with her partner before returning home at around 6.30pm. Her father, who had been looking after the kids, then dropped them home.
