Three winners and three losers from Manchester United's pre-season tour

Manchester United's pre-season tour of America has come to an end, with two more run-outs in store for Erik ten Hag's men.

United beat Arsenal in the first clash over in the United States, before three defeats against Wrexham, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund. It is now on to facing Lens at Old Trafford, before United take on Athletic Bilbao at the Aviva Stadium. After that, it's the big opening league encounter with Wolves.

Here, MEN Sport takes a look at the winners and losers from the tour.

It's a great shame the youngster's tour ended prematurely through injury against Real Madrid. Prior to that blow, enormous faith had been shown in the 18-year-old and the signs were extremely exciting. Mainoo shone in the victory against Arsenal and was then trusted to go toe-to-toe with the Spanish giants. First-team opportunities look to be in store for the midfielder this season, as he looks to go from strength-to-strength.

It's a season of great importance for Sancho, who is entering his third season as a United player. Ten Hag used the 23-year-old in a variety of positions over the course of the tour and there was a brightness to his play. Sancho got himself on the score sheet against Arsenal and more chances could well come his way. Ten Hag gave the player a three-month break last season and Sancho could now prove just how valuable that time was to him.

When asked about Sancho, Ten Hag said: "In this moment he is in a very good vibe. He decides how he is; how his mood and vibe is. He has a lot of energy, we have all seen that from the moment he came back. He wants to enjoy football and be successful."
