Hull City's promotion odds slashed as Championship promotion race verdict changes
Despite accumulating eight points from their opening four games this season, Hull City may still be ranked as outsiders to win promotion to the Premier League, but their price has significantly dropped as the club continue to impress. The Tigers have enjoyed a brilliant start this season, and currently sit in second place following their 1-1 draw at Burnley in another resilient performance by Shota Arveladze's side.
While the team are on the rise, in the race for promotion the bookies still do not rank City highly amongst the sides that can achieve promotion, placing odds of 14/1 for the Tigers to return to the top flight. While they may not be among the favourites, that it is a significant drop on their 33/1 odds given at the start of the season.
The two recently relegated Premier League sides still remain as the favourites to return at the first time of asking, with Watford available at 11/8 compared to 7/1 at the start of the season. Most surprisingly, after just one win in their opening four matches, Norwich are still available at 2/1.
Current leaders Blackburn Rovers are 4/1 to remain in the promotion picture, with other favourites from the start of the season West Brom (11/4), Middlesbrough (11/4), and Sheffield United (5/2) all remaining at similar prices.
Following their excellent start, the Tigers have risen slightly from 9/2 to 5/1 to be relegated back to League One, with Birmingham City, Reading and Rotherham all favourites to go down.
