Thousands of Comic Con fans heading to Manchester this weekend as huge convention returns

Comic Con is back for 2024 and will be taking over at Bowlers Exhibition Centre Arena in Manchester this weekend. The huge event will be held on Saturday, 27 July and Sunday, 28 July.

Comic Con Manchester is one of the UK’s largest pop culture conventions, attracting over ten thousand fans annually. The main attraction every year is the line-up of star guests, which brings together a variety of exciting names from movies, tv, streaming, gaming, anime and sports entertainment.

In previous years Comic Con Manchester has hosted the likes of Tyler Hoechlin, Zachary Quinto, Seth Green, Zachary Levi and Elizabeth Berkeley. As well as guests having the chance to meet their Comic Con heroes, get an item signed or a photo, many guests appear live on stage so attendees will be able to hear directly about their new projects and previous roles.

The high-profile names confirmed for 2024 include actors from a wide range of franchises such as Arthur Darvill from Doctor Who, Rainn Wilson and Paul Lieberstein from The Office, Amelia Tyler, Samantha Beart, Emma Gregory, and Dave Jones from Baldur’s Gate III, and Amy Acker from Angel.

It’s even deemed to be a Walking Dead convention by the fans with the amount of cast members attending from the hit TV show. From the post-apocalyptic horror series, Comic Con Manchester will be welcoming a total of 14 actors including Lennie James, Chad Coleman, Sonequa Marin-Green, Maggie Grace and Lauren Ridloff.
