'Thoughts elsewhere' - Gary Lineker makes Leicester City claim after Everton draw

Gary Lineker has suggested that Leicester City have "their thoughts elsewhere" after conceding another late goal against Everton on Wednesday night.

Richarlison scored an equaliser in the second minute of added time at Goodison Park as City dropped points on their travels after 90 minutes for the second time since Sunday. Then it was Newcastle United scoring in the 95th minute at St James' Park to steal all three points last weekend.

A total of 19 points have been dropped from winning positions so far this season. Four of these came in just the last four days this month.

City legend Lineker said on Match of the Day that the Foxes "have their thoughts elsewhere", alluding to their forthcoming two-legged Europa Conference League semi-final tie against Jose Mourinho 's Roma. "Honours even," Lineker said on the show. "I think Leicester City have got their thoughts elsewhere, of course."

Aston Villa are next up on Saturday afternoon before the home leg against the Italians on April 28 and then the away trip to Rome (May 5) in back-to-back midweeks. These games sandwich a visit to Tottenham Hotspur on May 1.

Lineker also admitted not being as 'gutted' as usual at Leicester dropping two points late on against Everton at Goodison Park. The 61-year-old retains an affinity for the Merseyside club after spending a single season there before signing for Barcelona after the 1986 World Cup.
