Thomas Tuchel's thoughts on Cristiano Ronaldo pour salt in Man Utd wound one year on

Thomas Tuchel has previously suggested that he would like Cristiano Ronaldo in his Chelsea team with the forward ready to quit Manchester United this summer.

The Portuguese superstar has requested to leave Old Trafford in the current window with the hope that a suitable offer is lodged for his services and he will be allowed to wave goodbye to the club. Speculation has been building regarding his commitment to the Red Devils after being left underwhelmed by the transfer business so far.

It is understood Ronaldo is unhappy that he will not be playing in the Champions League next season, with United only qualifying for the Europa League - a competition he has never played in. Now, Ronaldo is seeking a new adventure and hopes to depart the Red Devils if they receive a satisfactory offer in the transfer window.

Chelsea are one of the teams who are reportedly interested in the player, after new Blues owner Todd Boehly had met with super-agent Jorge Mendes in Portugal. It is claimed Ronaldo was the main reason behind the meeting with his future firmly in doubt. Real Madrid, Napoli, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are all said to be monitoring the player's situation.

There has been no further update on the Blues' interest in Ronaldo, who scored against Chelsea back in April. Tuchel spoke about the player after he moved to United last August and admitted that any team without Ronaldo is automatically a weaker team, hinting he would like the experienced forward at the club.
