This Morning star Sian Welby announces pregnancy joy after saying 'we have some news'

This Morning star Sian Welby has revealed she's pregnant with her first child - and apologised for keeping it a secret. The presenter announced the news she and partner Jake Beckett are expecting during her radio job on Capital FM on Wednesday morning (February 28).

Speaking live on the Breakfast show alongside host Roman Kemp and co-star Chris Stark, Sian said: "I’ve got a bit of an announcement for you... I’m pregnant! I don’t know how I’ve managed to keep it from you for so long...

"The lies, the deceit, the mocktails! I couldn’t wait to tell you. This is a whole new journey for me and I want to take you all on it with me, and don't worry I'm not going anywhere! This is going to be a lot of fun and I can’t wait to share it with you all."

Reacting to the news, Sian’s co-host Roman Kemp said: “Oh my god! Oh mate I’m so happy for you and Jake as well!” and Chris Stark said: "Is this real? It is the most exciting news ever!"

It was confirmed that Sian will take a break during the summer but will return to Capital Breakfast with new host Jordan North and Chris later in the year. She has since taken to social media where she shared a string of adorable pictures of her and Jake discovering the news with a pregnancy test and also some of their scan pictures so far.

"We have some news…." Sian captioned the post, which was also shared by Jake. Around the polaroid images, individual letters spelt out: "We're having a baby," and it didn't take long for the congratulatory messages to come flooding in.
