This Morning fans say 'thank God' as Josie Gibson breaks silence amid exit rumours

This Morning's Josie Gibson has set the record straight following mounting speculation that she was quitting the show. The Bristolian has become a regular after presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield stepped down last year.

Josie was made the main presenter of the ITV daytime show since returning from her I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here stint late last year. She has been paired with Rylan Clark, Craig Doyle and Dermot O'Leary throughout her stint.

Earlier this week, however, she worried fans with a "last day" message, sparking fears she wouldn't be returning to the ITV flagship show. On Wednesday she penned on Instagram: "My last day with @dermotoleary tomorrow before @alisonhammond55 returns Friday.

Addressing the rumours on Sunday, Josie reassured her 698k Instagram followers that she wasn't going anywhere. Posting a photo of herself fronting This Morning, she penned: "Alreeet lovers, Just to confirm, I have not left @thismorning I keep getting asked why I've left, so I thought it's easier to clear up the rumour mill on here. I am eternally grateful for all your love and support and I can not thank you enough."

She signed off the post with: "JG #squashingrumours".

A flurry of fans took to the comments to share their relief at the good news. @gmg2028___ wrote: "Thank god I love you on this morning" as @andrea.bayes.1 echoed: "Thank god Josie that you are not leaving... I absolutely love you on This Morning".
