'This club is not only about playing Celtic or Tottenham' as Rangers boss warns glory hunters 'they'll never enter the building'

Rangers gaffer Philippe Clement says any player who is more interested in glamour than graft won’t be at Ibrox on his watch.

Clement is refusing to think about Tottenham or Celtic with his full focus on the Staggies. And he’s warned everyone in his squad that if they only want to turn up for the big games - they won’t be at the club any longer. Ahead of the County clash, Clement said: “Players who don’t want to play against Ross County or against Dumbarton in the cup will never enter this building. If I feel that when I talk to them? Never, never.

“This club is not only about playing against Celtic or Tottenham. It’s all the other games also because that’s the way you win trophies. Otherwise, never.

“So I want that mentality in my squad. Not only in the games, but also in training. If I see players who don’t want to win, they cannot play games. That’s the fundamental of being a professional footballer. Being a player in a winning team. If you have that mentality, you can reach your goals.”

Rangers lost on their previous visit to Dingwall - 3-2 defeat put a massive dent in their title bid last term. They have plenty of ground to make up on Celtic this season and Clement knows nothing less than three points will do.
