Thirteen year-old cricket star from West Lothian mounts incredible comeback for Livingston Cricket Club

Livingston Cricket Club’s first team saw a pleasing first half of the season with four wins and four defeats.

The first team finished their latest innings at 229 for five in 45 overs. Fahad, Imtiaz and Kashi all stood out in the match.

Livi looked comfortable as they took five wickets for 97 runs.

Three fumbled catches proved very costly to the squad, however, when three different batsman scored 58, 85* and 43 to steal the game away from Livingston.

The first team will be travelling to Dunnikier to start the second half of the season.

Livingston’s second team kept up their good form with their second win in a row playing away against Peebles.

Sadhil Jindal showed impeccable skill when he bowled his full allotment of eight overs continuously and finished with four wickets while giving away only 20 runs – and was described by others on the team as ‘probably the best display of swing bowling seen at the club’.

It took Livingston less than 15 overs to get the runs and victory by eight wickets.

The third team had a tough task at Cavalry Park facing the Marchmont thirds who sat second in division seven.

Things started to look dire for the team as the match went on but Srikar Boggla continued his impeccable form and showcased his talent with stylish shots, knocking the ball around for singles and finding regular gaps for boundaries.

Srikar fell with three overs to go, finishing on 61 with 11 fours. Srikar’s performance was once again the highlight of Livingston’s batting.

Thanks in no small part to Srikar Boggla, the third team took the victory.

Linlithgow Cricket Club made the long journey to the Borders to take on Galashiels.
