Real Madrid 'keeper Thibaut Courtois does not fear stepping up to the spot should the Champions League final against Liverpool go to a penalty shootout.
The two sides meet in Paris on Saturday evening for the showpiece European final. The Spanish giants will be aiming to claim the 14th crown of their history, whilst Liverpool will be aiming to close the gap with their seventh.
Both Real and the Reds have been in exhilarating form this season heading into the game. Jurgen Klopp’s men have only just had their hopes of a quadruple extinguished having been edged out by Manchester City in the race for the Premier League. Elsewhere, Real Madrid claimed the Spanish top-flight with relative ease. With the quality of both teams, it would certainly not be a surprise to see the clash at the Stade de France go all the way to a penalty shootout.
Should that be the case then Courtois has revealed that he would not shy-away from stepping up to the spot having done so during his spell with Chelsea. He said: “I wouldn’t be one of the first five, for sure. But maybe after, if you need to shoot you have to shoot. I don’t fear it.
“It is a moment to shine. I remember that in pre-season with Chelsea against PSG I scored one and in the Community Shield
