'They’ve been looking at' - Sky Sports man now believes Celtic can land 'easy' summer deal

Journalist Anthony Joseph has claimed Celtic have had Dundee United goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist on their radar for some time. 

Joe Hart hasn’t been linked with a move away from Parkhead, nor is he soon out of contract, but given his age, it seems as though the Hoops are planning for the future and want to bring someone in that would be suitable to take his place further down the line.

And it was reported by Joseph last week that Siegrist is currently in talks to join the Bhoys upon the expiration of his contract at Tannadice Park at the end of this month, with a potential move on the cards.

The 30-year-old made 34 appearances in the Scottish top flight during the 2021/22 season for Dundee United.

Taking to Twitter last week, Joseph simply provided a four-word update regarding Celtic’s pursuit of the Swiss stopper, saying: “Benjamin Siegrist in talks.”

And he believes that snapping up the shot-stopper will be an easy deal to do as he is no longer tied to Dundee United.

He told GiveMeSport: “Siegrist is someone they’ve been looking at for quite a while, just in terms of their wishlist of good goalkeepers.

“And he’s out of contract, so that would be quite an easy one, and it would not surprise me if Siegrist was to join this summer. He probably wants to also be back in the setup for international football as well.”
