Opinion: Will Celtic make it two transfer announcements in two days?

Celtic’s announcement that the club have signed Alexandro Bernabei on a five-year deal brings an end to one long-running Hoops transfer. The Bhoys have been linked to the left-back for weeks, and after a lot of speculation the deal has finally been completed, and that is good news for the club.

Of course, there is another long-running Celtic transfer saga that has been ongoing for weeks, and that is the deal that will see Jota sign for the Hoops on a permanent transfer from Benfica.

There has been plenty of speculation about the winger, but as yet he has not put pen to paper on the deal which will see him join up at Celtic Park on a permanent deal.

However, the deal to sign Jota could finally be on the verge of happening. Football Scotland have reported that the player is in Scotland, and it could be that the Hoops are just waiting for the right time to make an announcement which will thrill the Celtic support.

Perhaps, if the player is in Glasgow as has been reported, the announcement will come within the next 24 hours, which would be sensible as it would leave a suitable distance between the signing of Bernabei and the signing of Jota.

That would be the right thing to do, as it would allow Celtic fans the entire day to celebrate the long-awaited signing of Jota, and it would also be the third Friday in recent week that has seen Celtic make a big announcement.

If the Jota deal is completed over the next 24 hours, then the Hoops will have made a very good start to the transfer window, as the Portuguese winger will join Cameron Carter-Vickers, Benjamin Siegrist and Alexandro Bernabei as new signings at Celtic Park.
