"They have to" - Graham Roberts drops concerning Conte claim involving Paratici and Levy at THFC

Tottenham Hotspur need to back Antonio Conte in the transfer market to ensure he does not walk away from the club just a matter of months after moving into the hot seat, according to Spurs legend Graham Roberts.

Conte was appointed as the north Londoners’ head coach in November, with the Italian replacing the sacked Nuno Espirito Santo, but there are doubts over whether he will still be at the helm next season.

Conte penned an 18-month contract when he headed to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium towards the end of last year, with the agreement offering the option to extend.

But there are doubts over the 52-year-old’s future as, according to Italian media outlet Calciomercato, Paris Saint-Germain have already made contact with Conte over potentially taking over in the French capital ahead of next season.

The report suggests the six-time title winner has a clause in his Spurs contract which allows him to leave the club at the end of the campaign.

However, club captain and 2018 World Cup winner Hugo Lloris has played down fears that Tottenham could be seeking yet another boss in the coming months.

The France international goalkeeper has insisted Conte is not the type to ‘give up in any circumstances’.

Roberts feels Tottenham need to show their ambition in order to keep Conte at the club beyond the end of the season.
