These could be the transfer stories that dominate at Plymouth Argyle in June

Plymouth Argyle boss Steven Schumacher will be keen to put his stance on the Pilgrims’ squad during his first summer transfer window in charge of the League One side.

Although he will be looking to level up his squad to give them the best possible chance of competing in the promotion mix again during the 2022/23 campaign and beyond, filling gaps may need to be his short-term priority.

Ryan Broom, Jordan Garrick, Steven Sessegnon and Romoney Crichlow have all returned to their parent clubs and though some made more of an impact than others, their departures mean there are four new spots to fill.

Luke McCormick’s retirement and Rhys Shirley’s departure may add another couple of areas for Schumacher to address, though a couple of forwards may already be on the manager’s list following Garrick’s return to Swansea City.

More outgoings could be on the horizon at Home Park though with the Pilgrims perhaps being the victims of their own success last term, with some of their key players likely to be subject of interest from elsewhere.

The Camara saga

Plymouth revealed last month that they had transfer-listed midfielder Panutche Camara following their failure to come to a fresh contract agreement with the Guinea-Bissau international, despite many months of negotiations.

This news perhaps comes as no surprise considering how impressive the 25-year-old has been for the third-tier side, recording five goals and eight assists in 47 competitive appearances during the 2021/22 campaign.
